DCU allocated €7 million to develop new indoor training facility at Morton Stadium
Funding part of the €173 million in grants given to 35 projects across Ireland under the Large Scale Sport Infrastructure Fund (LSSIF)
Dublin City University has been allocated €7 million to develop a new indoor training facility at Morton Stadium in Santry. The facility will include a full 8 lane 100-metre track, high-jump area, high performance gym, medical and physiotherapy treatment spaces, changing village, public toilets, and storage.
Dublin City University took over the running of the Morton Stadium in 2022 and have so far invested €3 million in upgrading the facilities there, including the laying of a new indoor and outdoor track, upgrades to the high performance gym and changing rooms, new drainage and cross-track electric power outlets, new fencing and stand seating, an IT system replacement and the delivery of new track and field equipment.
