Navigating War and Violence in twentieth-century Ireland

'Navigating War and Violence in twentieth-century Ireland’ Conference at DCU, 4-5 April 2025

The School of History and Geography is delighted to announce the ‘Navigating War and Violence in Twentieth-Century Ireland’ conference. It will take place on 4-5 April 2025 at St. Patrick’s Campus, DCU.

For our keynote speaker, we are excited to welcome Dr Anne Dolan, Associate Professor of Modern History at Trinity College Dublin. Anne has published extensively on the usage and consequences of violence during and after the Irish Revolution. Her current research project, ‘Witnessing War, Making Peace’’ examines how people who lived through the violence of 1912-1923 ‘negotiated their ways from conflict to peace’.

The Call for Papers is now open until 31 January 2025 and researchers of all career stages are welcome. Please direct your interest or any inquiries to navigatingviolence2025@gmail.com or @nwavc2025.bsky.social.
