Dr Kathleen Stokes and Dublin Simon Community Publish New Report

On Tuesday, the 26th of March, Dr Kathleen Stokes launched the report titled “The Opportunities and Challenges of Vacant ‘Above the Shop’ Units (VATSUs) for Residential Use in Ireland” which delves into the opportunities, processes, and complexities of repurposing vacant units above commercial properties for residential use, particularly for social housing. The report and associated research were undertaken in collaboration with Dublin Simon Community, and funded by the Housing Agency’s Research Support Programme. Findings have been covered in RTE Morning, Six One, the Irish Times, the Irish Examiner, and the Irish Independent.
