Publication of books by our recent graduates
Over the last few weeks, the School of History and Geography has had cause to celebrate the publication of books by recent graduates.
Seamus Cullen, who graduated from the School with a PhD in 2019, has developed his thesis into the book Kildare: the Irish Revolution, 1912-23 (Four Courts Press, 2020). It is another valuable addition to Four Courts Press Irish Revolution series and can be purchased at https://www.fourcourtspress.ie/books/2020/kildare/
The author of Art O'Brien and Irish Nationalism in London, 1900-25 (Four Courts Press, 2020) is Mary MacDiarmada. Mary completed her PhD on this subject in 2018 and her book can be purchased at https://www.fourcourtspress.ie/books/2020/art-obrien-and-irish-nationalism-in-london/
Michael Branagan, who graduated from the MA in History programme at St Patrick’s College, prior to incorporation into DCU, has also just published a book based on his thesis. Joseph Doyle, who completed the first Ph.D in what was then the department of History, in 2004, published his Ph.D recently. It is called Model Schools-Model teachers?
