Darren Clarke is a geographer whose research interests include climate adaptation, environmental policy and governance, and environmental psychology.
His research explores how communities can adapt to challenges like climate change by focusing on social and governance issues. He is interested in examining how vulnerable communities can transform and respond to environmental changes, especially how these changes affect social behaviour and wellbeing. His work emphasises the need for transformative change, a key strategy highlighted by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) for addressing climate change in a fair and sustainable way.
