DCU Student Learning Agreements (SLA): 2005/2006
Call for Funding

Issued: 09/05/06
Closing: 02/06/06
Reference: LIU/2005-2006/Student Learning Agreements

Introduction

As part of the roll out of the Learning Innovation Strategic Plan, in particular addressing issues of improving the first year experience, we wish to invite applications to introduce Student Learning Agreements on a pilot basis. Such agreements provide students with opportunities to discuss their programme, modes of study, learning pathways, options, electives etc with a designed staff member. With this support students can develop an 'agreement' to allow them to better understand the opportunities, options and requirements of their particular programme. The Learning Innovation Unit (through funding from the Strategic Agreement) invites applications for support in piloting Student Learning Agreements. Funding will be made available for implementation of pilots in this area from October 2006. Applications must be made using the form below. As funding is limited applications will be evaluated based on the extent to which an area feels they can genuinely improve the first year student experience. An information session on Student Learning Agreements will be held on May 17th at 12:30 in VBG12. Queries regarding this paper or the session to martina.crehan@DCU.ie
