Orientation for Second Semester, 2022/3
Welcome, new students! Thank you for choosing DCU.
General Orientation
General Orientation is now available for all incoming students for the 2022/3 academic year, semester 2.
My DCU is our Orientation Hub, designed to welcome new incoming students to DCU. To access My DCU and the DCU General Orientation, you will need your log-in credentials, issued by Registry.
Please note there is a My DCU for undergraduates and a My DCU for postgraduates.
Programme Orientation
Programme orientation for postgraduates students and short courses will be communicated by the Programme Chairs.
International Orientation
In addition, an orientation specifically for international students will take place online on Tuesday, January 10th from 9.30am.

If you are an international student, you will find information on how to prepare for arrival in Ireland here. It is each student’s responsibility to fully comply with the requirements of international travel to Ireland.

Student ID Cards
All students can collect a DCU student ID card from Registry upon arrival on campus. Please bring an official ID such as a passport. Students visiting for a single semester only (Erasmus/Exchange and Study Abroad) can simultaneously collect their student log-in credentials which consists of their email address, DCU username and password. These credentials give access to My DCU, and allow you to book campus tours and other orientation activities, so you are encouraged to go to Registry to pick them up as soon as possible.
Registration
Undergraduates and postgraduates enrolling directly to the university for a full degree can find registration information here. Please check your DCU email account regularly for updates. Students visiting for a semester only (Erasmus/Exchange and Study Abroad) are pre-registered prior to arrival at DCU. Further information about how to add, remove and swap courses will be shared during the exchange/study abroad orientation sessions on January 10th (register here).
Social events
There will be an online 'speed-friending' event run by the Erasmus Student Network on Tuesday, January 10th as part of orientation.
There will also be an International Coffee & Connect event in the last week of January, more details to come.
Campus Tours
Log in to My DCU for available campus tours with a DCU student ambassador from Wednesday, January 11th.
Library Tours
Library staff will be offering tours on each campus on January 18th and 19th at 1pm. Sign up at the library desk. Each tour participant gets a library tote bag, while stock last.
Sports
Interested in meeting other international students to learn the rules of traditional Irish games? The DCU International Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) team will be meeting the week of January 16th, exact details to come.
