Dr McNally is the incoming editor of 'Active Learning in Higher Education', an international journal teach and support learning in higher education (HE) and those who undertake or use research into effective learning, teaching and assessment in universities and colleges.
Published by Sage Journals, 'Active Learning in Higher Education' is an international publication covering effective learning, teaching and assessment in universities and colleges, for an audience that teaches and supports learning in higher education. It is in the top quartile (25%) for journal impact factor.
The editorial board includes researchers and academics from institutions in the UK, the USA, Australia and Europe, including the University of Cambridge and the University of Sydney.

Dr McNally is Associate Professor of Psychology and Early Childhood Education at the Institute of Education. Her previous research includes a landmark longitudinal study of the effects of reading with young children.
Last month, she delivered a keynote address at the National College of Ireland's annual research day on the developmental importance of play for children.
