

Headstart in the Community January-April 2025
Headstart is a 10 week programme for adults seeking to explore their educational opportunities. This programme is a partnership between DCU in the Community, DCU Access and the Adult Education Service CDETB in Ballymun working to improve access to education.
This programme will look to inform participants on the various opportunities and supports available to them as they consider re-entering education. Classes will be interactive and informative, including meetings with guidance counselors and tours of both a college of further education and Dublin City University. The goal of this programme is to build participants confidence and equip them with the knowledge to make the next step in their education journey.
The aim of the programme is to:
- Promote equal access to Further and Higher Education.
- Assist students in making informed choices throughout their educational journey.
- Support individuals returning to education.
- Help you identify your skills, strengths, and goals.
- Showcase available educational services and support.
Programme details:
- Date: 31 January 2025 - 12 April 2025
- Committment: 10 weeks, every Friday 10am - 1pm
- Venue: Ballymun Adult Education Service CDETB, Dublin City University and Whitehall College of Further Education.
- Exams: No Exams.
- Cost: Free of Charge
- Accreditation: Non-accredited
