Book Launch Webinar: Global Forum on Higher Education Leadership for Democracy, Sustainability and Social Justice
The partners of the Global Cooperation for the Democratic Mission of Higher Education have organized a webinar to officially mark the launch of the book based on the 2022 Global Forum, Higher Education Leadership for Democracy, Sustainability and Social Justice, hosted by the Office of Civic Engagement, DCU. The book that resulted from this Forum gathers chapters from authors from around Europe, the United States, Latin America, Australia and South Africa. The authors agree and together argue that higher education must influence the development of the attitudes, values, and skills that individuals use to shape societies. Higher education has a key role to play for today and tomorrow as a leader of society, and this leadership will be borne of the steps taken within the higher education community for the greater common good.
The book was released in December as part of the Council of Europe's Higher Education Series and this upcoming webinar will launch this important publication; authors will present their viewpoints and a discussion with the participants will follow. The book is accessible in Open Access; a link will also be shared during the Webinar.
The Webinar will take place Thursday, 25 January, from 2 pm to 3:30 pm CET / 8 am to 9:30am EST. It is being hosted as part of the International Association of Universities (IAU) Webinar Series on the Future of Higher Education.
