Graduation 2018
DCU in the Community’s 2017-2018 academic year students received their certificates at the annual graduation ceremony organised on Friday 13th July 2018 in the Mentoring Suite at DCU Library.
The graduation ceremony marked the successful completion by 62 students /6 groups - that includes 8 students who completed more than course - of the following courses which were delivered in partnership with Sillogue Neighbourhood Centre:
Community Organisation Management
This course, accredited by QQI at Level 6 and provides an insight into the theory and practice of management and leadership in community organisations with a strong focus on developing leadership capacity.
The programme is specifically designed to support those currently employed or volunteering within the community sector and who are giving consideration to progressing to managerial roles, board memberships in the sector, or to further and higher education in this area. Bridge to Education
The course is accredited by QQI at Level 5 with 3 component awards in Communications, Research & Study Skills and Personal & Professional Development . It is designed for mature students giving serious consideration to returning to full-time further and higher education. (more about Bridge to Education)
Psychology
This course, accredited by QQI at Level 5 (component award) and aims to equip participants with introductory understanding of psychology as a field of academic study, linking the theory of psychology to practical applications, such as therapies and interventions associated with the major psychological perspectives.
