Dr Joseph Rivera hosts Philosophies of Love Workshop at DCU

Dr. Joseph Rivera organized a day-long workshop on philosophies and theologies of love.

The event included speakers from the University of Galway, Trinity College Dublin, Maynooth University and several colleagues from Dublin City University. The keynote was delivered by Professor Claude Romano from the Sorbonne. The papers were collected with the intention to publish collectively, with many now accepted for an upcoming special issue of Philosophies.

In addition to presentations, attendees were also designated to respond to each papers. The papers presented spanned a wide range of topics.

Earlier this year, organiser Dr Joseph Rivera guest edited a special issue of Religions entitled "What is Philosophy of Religion? Definitions, Motifs, New Directions". His open access editorial for this issue he posed the question '(does) the philosophy of religion occupy only cognitive terrain? Can it develop resources to discuss and celebrate not the contradiction to, but the foundation of, the intellect?'
