Ian Leask keynote on Toland
Dr Ian Leask, Lecturer in Philosophy, was recently invited to give a keynote lecture at the Moore Institute, NUI Galway, as part of the university’s research project ‘Representation of the Jews in Irish Literature’. Organised to take place on Holocaust Memorial Day, Dr Leask’s paper focussed on the early modern Irish philosopher John Toland, giving particular attention to Toland’s arguments for Jewish naturalization but also addressing aspects of Toland’s wider ‘Hebraica’.
Dr Leask’s session was chaired and introduced by Professor Pól Ó Dochartaigh, NUI Galway’s Registrar and Deputy President, who has written extensively on the holocaust and its legacy.
