CERME10 Proceedings
The proceedings of the Tenth Congress of European Research in Mathematics Education (CERME10), co-edited by Thérèse Dooley, School of STEM Education, Innovation and Global Studies Institute of Education, and Ghislaine Gueudet, University of Brest, France, are now available on the ERME website. The congress, hosted by the Institute of Education, Dublin City University, took place from 1st to 5th February 2017. With 774 participants, drawn from 29 countries in Europe as well as 23 from further afield, it was the largest conference in mathematics education to take place in Ireland to date. The main feature of the congress is the Thematic Working Group (TWG) whose members work together on a common theme related to learning and teaching mathematics. Among the themes addressed in 23 TWGs were: early childhood and primary mathematics, university mathematics, applications & modelling, classroom resources, geometry, statistics, diversity, technology, and assessment.
Excluding the plenary activities and ancillary material, there are 545 papers in the proceedings – 453 long papers (8 pages or more) and 92 short papers (2 pages). This volume begins with texts corresponding to the three plenary activities of CERME10. After the plenaries, there are 23 chapters corresponding to the work done in the TWGs. The ancillary material in the proceedings conveys the ‘big picture’ of CERME10 including a statistical analysis and an introductory overview to each of the TWG chapters. Of the 545 papers, 23 are from Ireland (across 14 TWGs), of which nine involve authors from CASTeL in DCU.
The proceedings were published by the Institute of Education and can be found here
