Academic biography

Miriam Ryan is a lecturer in Mathematics Education in the Institute of Education, DCU. She shares responsibility for the design, delivery, assessment and evaluation of mathematics education courses. Miriam is currently conducting PhD studies under the supervision of Dr Máire Ní Ríordáin, in which she hopes to investigate the teaching and learning of mathematics in senior classrooms in Gaelscoileanna, and how opportunities for learning in these contexts may best be harnessed. 
Prior to taking up her role in the university, Miriam was a classroom teacher in Gaelscoleanna, in which she taught at a variety of class levels.
