Introduction to the DCU EU AI Act Compliance Course

Shows Director of HR in DCU Gareth Yore

Gareth Yore, Vice President for People, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

We are delighted to present this introductory course on AI literacy, designed to help us comply with the EU Artificial Intelligence Act.

As a university, understanding the importance of supporting AI Literacy is essential and we view it as our responsibility to stay informed about how to use these technologies effectively and ethically.

This course will explore the role of AI in the world today and the potential it holds for the future. You’ll have the opportunity to explore the role of AI literacy in a university setting and why we must remain proactive in ensuring its responsible use before moving on to some applications of AI and how you can become better prepared to engage with AI technologies responsibly.

We believe that while AI will continue to transform how we work, the core values of academic integrity will always remain central to our institution. This course is the first step in our collective journey to understand and responsibly use AI in the university setting.
