Mentoring Post-retirement
We firmly believe that the wealth of knowledge and experience possessed by retired staff members is invaluable. So we encourage retired staff to consider mentoring colleagues into retirement.
Mentoring colleagues after retirement benefits the university, retired staff members, and their mentees.
For DCU, it ensures knowledge continuity, enhances organisational culture, and fosters collaboration. As a retired staff member, it can be very fulfilling to continue sharing your expertise and staying engaged with the university community. Colleagues you mentor benefit from your experience, connections, and guidance in their career journeys.
If you are interested in continuing to mentor a member of staff in retirement, please contact learning.developement@dcu.ie
The Library
Even after retirement, our campus libraries remain invaluable resources at your disposal.
As a retired staff member, you can get a retired staff identity card so you can use and borrow from the DCU Libraries on all three campuses. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to access online library resources after 2 August 2024.
To activate your retired staff ID card, please present it at the library issue desk on your first visit to the library after you retire.
