Our Commitment to Race Equality

At DCU, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse environment where all members of our community feel respected and valued. Our dedication to race equality is a fundamental part of our mission to create a welcoming space for students, staff, and faculty from all racial and ethnic backgrounds.

On 18th January 2024, DCU President Prof Dáire Keogh signed the HEA Race Equality Principles and thereby committed to align our efforts with the principles and commitments outlined by Higher Education Authority (HEA) in Ireland to ensure that we adhere to national standards of excellence in promoting race equality.

The complete HEA Anti-Racism Principles for Irish Higher Education Institutions document is available on the HEA website and the Principles and Commitments are outlined below.

DCU is committed to fostering an environment that upholds dignity and respect for all individuals, ensuring everyone's right to learn and work without any form of racism, harassment, intimidation, or bullying. We formed a Race Equality Working Group to develop an action plan for the university to work towards these commitments.
