In February 2023, the DCU People Department were delighted to welcome a new new ninth principle to the DCU Autism Friendly Project:
This session will explore practical ways that you, as a manager can support autistic and/or neurodivergent team members and suggest ways for you to help your team work more efficiently and more effectively. This will include an overview of possible reasonable accommodations, referral pathways for ongoing support, and a discussion on inclusive language / ways or working.
We will talk about:
- The language We Use
- Sensory Processing (Information and Environment)
- Autistic Social Communication
- Autistic Perspective (What would help?)
- Impact of Different Communication Norms
- Disclosure
- Legislative and Policy Framework
- The DCU Support Pathway
- Examples of Reasonable Accommodations
HOW TO REGISTER FOR THIS COURSE
