- 1 hour 45 min online workshop (10 - 11.45am)
- 1 half-hour follow up individual sessions will be scheduled to take place once the workshop is completed
Target Audience: Designed to meet the needs of academics in the classroom, this course would suit any member of staff who makes presentations or are involved in public speaking
Requirements: None (no singing experience or talent required!)
Course Outline:
Vocal projection, body language, breathing and mental wellbeing are all important aspects of lecturing and giving presentations. Through singing, these areas and many more are explored, supported and developed in a fun and non-threatening environment. We highly recommend this hugely enjoyable experience.
Course Aims:
To maximise your vocal potential and discover new skills and ways to approach your spoken performance in the workplace. This is a great opportunity to:
- Improve vocal quality and projection.
- Reduce vocal fatigue and hoarseness
- Build confidence
- Enhance listening skills
- Learn some singing tips and experience singing within a group in a relaxed environment.

Course Facilitator: Christine Whyte.
Christina trained in London at Trinity College of Music (now Trinity Laban). She is a professional singer and has been singing with Ireland's flagship choral ensemble, Chamber Choir Ireland (CCI) since 2006. In addition to CCI she sings regularly as a freelance soloist and choral singer, both in Ireland and UK.
Christina is also an experienced choral director and singing teacher. She currently directs both the DCU Campus Choir (Staff Choir) and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland Choral Society. She has recently taken workshops and rehearsals for the Axis, Ballymun “Sing” Project, including a performance alongside singer/actress Maria Doyle Kennedy and collaborative Christmas performances with CCI.
She has taken many singing workshops for secondary schools around Ireland and also in healthcare settings including choirs aimed at people living with dementia. Christina is an NCFE-accredited Vocal Health First Aider.
