Aims of this course:
Have you an out of control to do list? If so, then join the gang. It is no surprise that time management is a highly sought-after. It is also a skill which presents us with daily challenges. Organising your day so that you are as productive as possible isn’t easy because of the constant interruptions that occur in a normal working environment.
The good news is that you can tackle the time management problem. Here are some principles to help you use your time productively without working longer hours
- Principle 1: Planning & Scheduling important activities to ensure the right things get done consistently
- Principle 2: Time Management Balance Sheet – understanding your time capacity
- Principle 3: Time Audit - knowing how you spend your time
- Principle 4: Impact/Influence Model - take back the time that is lost daily through unnecessary interruptions
At the end of this course, you will be able to:
- prioritise important things in your work and not just the urgent things
- plan and organise your activities to reduce fire-fighting and stress and stay ahead of deadlines
- understand how different personality types steal your time
- take responsibility for managing interruptions and interactions
- understand how you really spend your time, as opposed to how you think you use your time
- understand the real issues instead of the perceived problems
- use a time management balance sheet to allocate your time effectively
- define your top priorities and how you will protect your time to ensure these activities will be completed.
