Course Description:
This workshop will help people at all levels who need to deliver presentations, people who are nervous about giving presentations and those who have never had any training in this area before.
Training Outcomes
At the end of the training participants will:
- Understand how to analyse their audiences’ needs;
- Know the principles of effective communication;
- Be able to begin and end with impact;
- Know how to make their communication interesting and relevant to their audience;
- Know how to communicate with impact, maintaining contact and empathy with the audience;
- Have clear preparation and practice guidelines;
- Be able to structure their presentation in a clear, easy to follow story-line;
- Be able to create understanding of complex concepts and ideas;
- Be able to influence, persuade and convince audiences and individuals;
- Be able to handle questions and objections at any point in the communication;
- Be able to ensure audiences take up and retain what’s important;
- Know how to use visual aids, including PowerPoint, to best effect;
- Know how to deal with nerves and anxiety;
- Be interesting, understandable and memorable; and
- Present themselves, and DCU, professionally and with confidence.
