Academic biography

Dr. Colum A. Foley completed an EdD in Educational Leadership with the DCU Institute of Education in 2021. His dissertation was entitled The Rhetoric, Policy Practice Gap: A Study of Online Learning in Irish Higher Education. He has over twenty years of Industrial Management experience in the areas of Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Customer Service, and Managing Change. He joined DCU Business School in 2020 having previously taught in Open Education and Oscail at DCU. In addition, he has taught across the sector in a wide range of Further and Higher Educational Institutions in Operations Management-related subjects. He holds a Master of Science Degree in Management of Operations from D.C.U. . His Master's thesis was on Managing Change for Sustainability. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from U.C.C. majoring in Management and Marketing. Colum's research is in the areas of Online Learning Policy, Managing Change, Humanitarian Operations, and Sustainable Management.
