This Toolkit provides step-by step instructions on taking part in, as well as managing, the probationary process at DCU - and is designed for all staff.

What is Probation? 

Probation is the process of ensuring that a new employee is meeting the required standard, effectively an extension of the recruitment process. 

Formal probationary reviews are completed with a new employee after three, six and nine months of employment. These dates should be communicated to the manager by the DCU People department.
