Career Appointments with a Careers Consultant

Our various Career Appointments offer the opportunity to meet a Careers Consultant for a one-to-one consultation to discuss a range of career and further study-related queries. There are two appointment types available, depending on the nature of your query.

Some of the topics we can discuss with you at our appointments include:

  • CV/Cover Letter/LinkedIn Review
  • Application Form Review - concerns around specific questions
  • Personal Statements Review

We offer appointments allowing for more in-depth discussion to help you with career planning and choices also and topics covered can include: 

  • Career Planning and Decision Making
  • Exploring further study options
  • Interview preparation and skills development
  • Identifying your skills and strengths
  • Change of Programme/Career direction

Consultations are available both on campus and online via Zoom.

 

Career Appointments with a Careers Consultant for Research Students

We also have specific appointments available for Research Students. Depending on the nature of your query, you can book one of two appointment types.

  • Career decision-making
  • Exploring career routes for example industry, academia, academic-adjacent
  • Strategic job search and networking
  • Making successful job applications
  • Identifying and articulating skills and strengths

Consultations are available both on campus and online via Zoom.

Open to all current undergraduate and postgraduate students. Booking is essential and availability can be limited during peak periods so be sure to check mycareer.dcu.ie for appointments as new appointments are added every Thursday afternoon.
