Director and Co-Founder of Press Up Entertainment speaks to DCU's Future Entrepreneurs
Chief Operations Officer and Co-Founder of Press Up Entertainment Group, Matt Ryan, visited Dr Eric Clinton's New Enterprise Development students on the morning of October 31st 2019. The final year undergraduate Business Studies students welcomed Mr Ryan into their lecture hall to receive invaluable insight into building successful business relations in their future careers. The Press Up COO told the prospective entrepreneurs that building relationships with talented people is the most critical aspect which has excelled his entrepreneurial career since leaving university. Despite managing 47 businesses and over 1,600 employees today, Ryan came from a traditional family farming background in Co. Laois. He speaks highly of the family farm and maintains it to the present day. Answering students' entrepreneurship queries during the Q&A, Ryan said that his interest in people management and helping his employees excel is one of his main priorities.
The main takeaways for future entrepreneurs and business owners:
Connect with your peers now, while you're still at college. They may prove to be a helpful contact when you are running a business in 10 years time.
Engage in networking with talented people. Building your business with employees that are passionate about their subject and have unique skillsets is an investment in the business.
Be proactive. If you're curious about a project or business and want to get involved, get in touch! If you don't ask, you'll never know.
