Prof Tom Lumpkin Receives 2023 FERC Lifetime Achievement Award
The 17th Family Enterprise Research Conference (FERC), hosted by Florida Atlantic University, was held in Delray Beach, Florida from June 15 – June 17, 2023.
NCFB’s Dr Eric Clinton and Catherine Faherty were part of the 2023 Organising Committee of this conference which is one of the largest annual gatherings of family business scholars globally.
During the three day event family business experts shared the latest cutting-edge research on family business dynamics.
On the final day of the conference, the distinguished Lifetime Achievement award was presented to Prof Tom Lumpkin, member of NCFB's Scientific Committee.
This award is the highest form of peer recognition in family business studies and is presented to individuals who have provided distinguished leadership over a number of years toward the growth and development of family business research.

Prof Lumpkin, of University of Tennessee and University of Oklahoma, USA, a globally recognized scholar, has enabled the entry and career progression of scholars into the field, while influencing family business research, education and practice.
His research has been published in leading entrepreneurship and management journals, and he has served as co-editor of numerous projects.
