NCFB Team Scoop Multiple Teaching Awards
September 2021: September has proven to be a successful month for NCFB team members from an academic standpoint. As well as researching and leading family business projects, the NCFB team are teaching the next generation of students in all areas of commerce, and have been deservedly commended for their efforts.
NCFB Director, Prof Eric Clinton was recognised by the Pearson HE Innovate Awards for his efforts in the category of ‘most innovative approach to developing employability skills’. Time after time, Prof Clinton’s teaching is recognised by both his students and academics alike, with an emphasis on real world skills, imperative in his teaching.
Professor Roisin Lyons, now of University of Limerick, accepted the award of the LIFE module delivery team, which included Prof Catherine Faherty, Prof Peter Robbins, and Professor Philip O’Donnell. The programme is based around business in all its forms and entrepreneurship. All first year DCU Business School students complete the LIFE module and it’s an integral, foundational part of our curriculum. Students learn the A-Z of business in all its forms through Hackathons, online learning, conference seminars, applied projects, reflective writing and through getting out there and hearing directly from businesses.
The team here at the NCFB would like to congratulate all of those involved - well done!
