Dr Vanessa Diaz-Moriana
Dr Vanessa Diaz-Moriana is an Associate Professor at the University of Balearic Islands (UIB) within the Department of Business Economics. Vanessa is also a postdoctoral researcher at the DCU Centre for Family Business who completed her doctoral thesis with the centre's Prof Eric Clinton and Prof Teresa Hogan.
Professional activities and research: Vanessa's research interest lies at the intersection of strategic entrepreneurship and family business, with a particular focus on how entrepreneurial family firms make decisions and eventually take action. Her research on family firms' long-term orientation has been presented at leading entrepreneurship and family business conferences and has also been awarded the prestigious Family Owned Business Institute Award 2013, Best Doctoral Contribution Award 2014 at the Family Enterprise Research Conference and Best Paper Award in the 2015 Irish Academy of Management. Her research has been published in leading international journals including Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, Journal of Management Studies and International Small Business Journal.
