On the back of record number of applications and growing popularity for Humanities and Social Sciences programmes in Ireland, Dublin City University's School of Law and Government is encouraging prospective students to obtain further information and submit undergraduate applications through the Central Applications Office (CAO).
Trends published in a 2017 report suggest the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences saw the biggest increase in demand, with applications for its undergraduate programmes up over 15% in the academic year 2016-17. The BA in Economics, Politics and Law rose by 43% while International Relations increased by 36%. Law at DCU continues to be a popular choice, with the BCL Law and Arts (Law) increasing by 34% and 41% respectively.
DCU held Open Days on 16 and 17 November and opened its doors to both school leavers and parents. DCU School of Law and Government staff was available on hand on both days to answer questions about courses and studying in DCU. The next Open Day is scheduled to be held on 13 April, 2019, where prospective students will have the opportunity to come and explore what Dublin City University has to offer.
According to CAO website, the online application facility opened on 5 November. Prospective students applying online by 20 January, 2019, will be able to avail the discounted application fee of €30. Normal closing date for applications is 1 February, 2019. Further details about important CAO dates can be found here.
