Junior Vice President of the Geographical Association
Susan Pike, a Lecturer at the IoE is to have a key role in the leading international association for teachers of geography. Susan, who leads Geography Education at the Institute of Education, has recently been elected as the Junior Vice President of the Geographical Association.
The announcement was made during the Association's three day annual conference, held at Sheffield Hallam University and attended by 750 delegates from around the world.
The appointment means that Susan will be Senior Vice President in 2019-2020, and then President of the Geographical Association in 2020-2021.
Susan said: "I've been a member of the Geographical Association since my student days, and it has always inspired my work in schools and Teacher Education. It's a great pleasure to be giving back to the Association that does so much for all teachers of Geography."
