World Anti-Bullying Forum Announced in DCU

On Tuesday 30th January representatives of the World Anti-Bullying Forum visited DCU to announce that the National Anti-Bullying Research and Resource Centre has won a bid to host the next World Anti-Bullying Forum in 2019.
The bid was supported by the Minister for Education and Skills, the Lord Mayor of Dublin and Dublin Convention Bureau with further support from Facebook and the ISPCC.
Mr. Jacob Flardh and Ms. Sandra Lannergren travelled from Stockholm to make the announcement at DCU. The Lord Mayor joined them to make the annoucement at DCU and the Swedish visitors also were invited with representatives from the Anti-Bullying Centre to make a courtesy call to President Higgins at Áras an Uachtaráin.
The World Anti-Bullying Forum was initiated by Friends International Centre Against Bullying in Sweden and is held every two years. It is a multi-disciplinary conference and think-tank at which cutting edge research from across the globe into the issue of bullying is presented and explored along side presentations and workshops about the latest initiatives for tackling bullying.
