MA in Translation Studies - 2019 Trip to Brussels
Students from the MA in Translation Studies and the MSc in Translation Technology visited the Directorate General for Translation, the European Commission, and the European Parliament in Brussels at the end of April. It once again proved an insightful and absorbing journey for the students involved.
Here's Conor O'Shea, an MA in Translation Studies student's account of the trip:
"A truly insightful, fantastic few days in Brussels where me and my course got to learn all about the translation opportunities available in the EU Institutions, how they work, the future of Europe, the outsourcing of translation work and the translation technologies used in the Institutions. Meeting people from different countries, counties, cultures and backgrounds was also refreshing. A massive thank you to our lecturer in DCU Joss Moorkens for organising the trip. I hope to return to Brussels at some stage in the future in a professional capacity!"
