SALIS Book Launch: New Approaches to Translation, Conflict and Memory
Book launch: New Approaches to Translation, Conflict and Memory: Narratives of the Spanish Civil War and the Dictatorship (2018, Palgrave MacMillan).
Join editors Lucía Pintado Gutiérrez and Alicia Castillo Villanueva will discuss their book, which establishes a new dialogue between translation, conflict and memory studies.
The book focuses on fictional texts, reports from war zones and audiovisual representations of the Spanish civil war and the Franco dictatorship. Lucia and Alicia are both members of SALIS and the Centre of Translation and Textual Studies (CTTS) in DCU.
This event will be moderated by Prof Michael Cronin, Director of Trinity Centre for Literary and Cultural Translation, 36 Fenian Street, Dublin 2.
