Giveback.ie - DCU Enactus Team
This year DCU students will be showcasing three social enterprises they have set up during the year in Enactus - a global organisation driving social entrepreneurship among students.
The project of DCU students is called Giveback.ie. It's an incredibly clever idea where the students have created a software programme that you download, and once downloaded, any time you buy something online from any of the Giveback online partner retailers (of which there are hundreds, including Amazon, Asos, Bookings.com) a percentage (between 1-10%) of your purchase goes to Giveback.ie, who then pass on the money to charities in Dublin who speciailise in tackling the homeless crisis.
It's a chance for everyone to contribute to tackling homelessness with just the click of a mouse. The download is extremely simple, hassle free, and takes just 30 seconds.
All you need to do is go to https://giveback.ie/ and click on the 'Download for Chrome' icon and in a few clicks it will be done.
From that point onward, you will see a small red heart in the top right corner of the your screen, which means you are now a 'givebacker'.
