DCU to host the Annual Conference of the Irish Association for Applied Linguistics
SALIS and the Applied Linguistics Research Group in DCU are delighted to host the Annual Conference of the Irish Association for Applied Linguistics on the 24th November, 2018.
Entitled Applied Linguistics and Language Strategies: Practices and Policies, the focus of this year's conference is on Ireland's new strategy for foreign-languages-in-education, Languages Connect, as well as on the most recent developments in Applied Linguistics.
Highlights of the conference include:
A Keynote Lecture by Adj. Professor Dr Peppi Taalas of the University of Jyväskylä, Finland, chaired by Head of SALIS Professor Françoise Blin
A Round-Table on the likely impact of Languages Connect with the following participants:
- Professor Helen Kelly-Holmes, Dean, Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Limerick
- Mr Gerry O’Sullivan, Head of International Programmes, Higher Education Authority, Member of the Foreign Languages Advisory Group
