Public Lecture on Pope Francis and Jewish-Christian Dialogue
The Centre for Interreligious Dialogue and the School of Theology, Philosophy, and Music are pleased to announce a public lecture by Dr Edward Kessler to be held on Monday 26 September 2016, at 7.30pm. The title of the lecture is "Pope Francis and the Challenges Facing Jewish-Christian Dialogue Today". The lecture will be held in Purcell House, on the DCU All Hallows Campus.
Dr Edward Kessler MBE is an authority on the relationship between religion and society. He is Founder Director of the Woolf Institute, a Fellow of St Edmund's College, Cambridge and a leading thinker in interfaith relations, primarily, Jewish-Christian-Muslim Relations. He is also a prolific author, having written or edited nine books and dozens of articles. Dr Kessler's most recent book is entitled Jews, Christians and Muslims (SCM, 2013) and a new book on Jesus is due to be published in 2016.
Sponsored by the Irish Council of Christians and Jews, Dr Kessler will also give a talk at the Progressive Synagogue in Rathgar on 27 September at 8pm. The lecture is titled: “Jewish-Christian Relations: Reflections from a European Jewish Theologian.” All are welcome.
