Horrorcon 2024 at All Hallows

Second All Hallows Horrorcon taking place on November 2nd

The spin chilling follow-up to last year's celebration of all things grotesque

"The way I see it, someone's out to make a sequel. You know, cash in on all the movie murder hoopla. So, it's our job to observe the rules of the sequel. Number one: the body count is always bigger. Number two: the death scenes are always much more elaborate. Carnage candy. And number three: never, ever, under any circumstances, assume the killer is dead."

Randy Meeks, Scream 2

Following the success of DCU's inaugural Horrorcon in 2023, warped and twisted minds are invited to the All-Hallows Campus in Drumcondra for a day of bloodily dissecting why the macabre is so dear to our hearts.

There will be panels on topics such as the Irish love of horror and how to establish your own career in nightmares, from audio to fiction to film.

To follow last year's wonderful/traumatising showing of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, this year, the surprise horror feature screening is being selected and introduced by founder of the Dublin Horror Club and acclaimed storyteller, Bearded Badger.

As part of DCU's new partnership with Rutgers-New Brunswick, the event will be featuring exclusive readings with US horror stars such as Stephen Graham Jones (The Only Good Indians, My Heart is A Chainsaw) and Daniel Kraus (The Shape of Water) as well as students from Rutgers and DCU.

The line-up for this year's Horrorcon includes

Aislinn Clarke - a filmmaker putting both Irish horror and the Irish language on the world stage. Of her second film, Variety said "Fréwaka twists deep-seated folk imagery into uncanny nightmare fuel".

Liam Geraghty - an award-winning audio producer of podcasts and radio and one of the sick minds behind 'Petrified' - the terrifying horror drama podcast which has received, among other accolades, a New York Festivals Radio Award.

Dr. Sarah Cleary - a development executive at Wild Atlantic Pictures (Abigail, Bodkin, Evil Dead Rise, as well as a consultant, events organiser and academic specialising in horror, censorship and transgression.

This event is over-18s only. Cosplay is encouraged and will be rewarded!
