IFTA winning film 'An Cailín Ciúin' produced by DCU Alumna Cleona Ní Chrualaoi set for general release in Ireland
An Cailín Ciúin, the highly acclaimed Irish film produced by DCU Alumna Cleona Ní Chrualaoi, will be released in cinemas throughout Ireland on Thursday, May 12th.
The film is written and directed by Colm Bairéad and was funded by Screen Ireland, TG4 and the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland as part of the Cine4 scheme.
It has won a staggering seven Irish Film and Television Academy awards at the recent IFTAs including awards for Best Film, Best Director and Best Actress. The film had its world premiere at the prestigious Berlinale where it scooped The Grand Prix of the Generation Kplus International Jury for Best Film.
The film is based on Claire Keegan's novella Foster, and has been the subject of critical acclaim.
It will be released on May 12th in cinemas nationwide and in Dublin it will screen in the following cinemas:

There is a special screening with Q&A in the IFI on Friday 13th May with Cleona and Colm Bairéad, the director plus cast including the award winning young actor Catherine Clinch and Carrie Crowley.
