DCU celebrates World Engineering Day with Engineers Ireland

Last month, Dublin City University was filled with excitement as Engineers Ireland celebrated World Engineering Day on the 4th of March with a special event on our Glasnevin campus. Hosted in the Stokes Building, the event was spearheaded by five dedicated DCU Student Ambassadors who worked at an interactive stand designed to engage with and inspire students about the field of engineering.

The event was a great success, drawing students from various disciplines to learn more about the opportunities that studying engineering can offer. Engineers Ireland displayed an array of merchandise, posters, and goodies to make the stand inviting and informative. The DCU Schools of Engineering also contributed additional materials to showcase the vast potential within the field.

A social media campaign ran in real time, featuring videos and photos from the event. Student Ambassadors also took to Engineers Ireland’s social channels to share live updates, testimonials, and engaging content, amplifying the reach of the initiative beyond the DCU campus.

Additionally, those who signed up for an Engineers Ireland membership on the day were entered into a special raffle with fantastic prizes. The grand prize was an iPad, followed by Sony headphones, and a €200 Ryanair voucher - an extremely exciting opportunity for students who attended the event.

World Engineering Day at DCU successfully highlighted the significance of engineering in shaping the future while encouraging students to explore this dynamic field, and we would like to say a huge thank you to all who participated in the event.
