Wuhan University Delegation Visit
Joining the delegation from the School of Electronic Information, WHU, were colleagues from areas spanning Environmental Sciences, Humanities and Graduate Affairs, who also spent the day engendering and strengthening links with counterparts at DCU. Both delegations were welcomed to DCU formally by Prof Lisa Looney (Vice President for Academic Affairs) and Jennifer Bruton (Executive Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Computing), and Prof Looney spoke warmly, in her opening address, of the strong bonds between the institutions, which have endured despite challenges of distance and separation.
The visit of the School of Electronic Information, which the School of Electronic Engineering was proud to lead, signified the culmination of plans to renew a Joint Masters in Engineering agreement between DCU and Wuhan University and provided an opportunity for both Schools to explore further potential for collaboration in teaching and research. Building upon a longstanding relationship between the two Schools (which has grown from the foundation of a collaborative education programme established in 2006), the visit of the Wuhan delegation marked not only a deepening of these links, but also a strengthening of overall institutional bonds.
Both the School of Electronic Engineering and the Faculty sincerely thank our partners, and friends, at Wuhan University for travelling to DCU and for their time, dedication and commitment to our shared goals.
