Six DCU Staff recognised in Top 40 Irish Computer Scientists List

Six DCU staff members are ranked in the top 40 computer scientists in the country according to the 9th edition of Research.com’s list:

Professor Alan Smeaton (School of Computing at DCU), Professor Noel E. O'Connor (School of Electronic Engineering at DCU), Professor Gareth Jones (School of Computing at DCU), Professor Gabriel-Miro Muntean (School of Electronic Engineering at DCU), Professor Andy Way (School of Computing at DCU), Associate Professor Cathal Gurrin (School of Computing at DCU).

Research.com’s best researchers ranking is a list of leading scientists from the area of Computer Science around the world, created using a thorough examination of 166,880 researchers determined from multiple bibliometric data sources. For the area of Computer Science, as many as 14402 researchers were examined.

The 9th edition of Research.com ranking is based on data consolidated from various data sources including OpenAlex and CrossRef. The bibliometric data for devising the citation-based metrics were acquired on 21-12-2022. Position in the ranking is based on a scholar’s D-index (Discipline H-index), which includes exclusively papers and citation values for an examined discipline.
