DCU Courses receive internationally recognised Engineers Ireland accreditation
The Engineers Ireland accreditation is an objective evaluation and approval of engineering programmes, ensuring that they meet international standards, the needs of the engineering profession and broader responsibilities to society, environment and economy.
Accreditation from Engineers Ireland ensures that programmes are up to the best standards worldwide. Accredited courses are internationally recognised, encouraging travel and the exchange of ideas and experience for graduates.
This is the first time an integrated masters programme in the Faculty of Engineering and Computing has received this globally recognised accreditation. The integrated masters provides students with the option to do one additional year of their studies, lengthen their INTRA work experience placement, and graduate with a master’s degree.
The five courses newly accredited courses by Engineers Ireland include:
- Masters in Engineering in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering (1-year)
- Bachelors of Engineering in Electronic and Computer Engineering
- Masters in Engineering in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering (5-year)
- Bachelors of Engineering in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering
- Bachelors of Engineering in Mechatronic Engineering
The certificates of accreditation were presented to DCU by Engineers Ireland at a formal celebration attended by Jennifer Bruton, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Computing and Damien Owens, Director General of Engineers Ireland. Dr Noel Murphy, Head of the School of Mechatronic Engineering, Dr Paul Young, Head of the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, programme chairs and other representatives of Engineers Ireland were also present to celebrate this achievement.
About the Engineers Ireland Accreditation:
