organised by European AntiBullying Network (EAN) and “”The Smile of the Child” NGO , titled A Spatial Turn for Future Bullying and Aggression Prevention Strategies: A Differentiated Approach to Spaces of Belonging in Schools and Communities

On December 12, 2024, Professor Downes gave an  Invited Lecture, at WU Wirtschaftsuniversität, Vienna, Austria Understanding Organisational Culture as a System of Relational Spaces for Prevention of  Bullying

Common themes across the presentations were the need for a spatial turn in psychology and education, building on his recent books in this area, as well as for a stronger systemic focus in education on trauma and adverse childhood experiences. A further key aspect is the need for a common integrated strategic system response to both early school leaving prevention and aggression and bullying prevention in schools and communities.
