What we do
The University Events Team is responsible for the project management and delivery of a wide range of events - from large scale University-wide projects to student graduations and honorary conferrings to hosting international dignitaries.
We are also available to advise and support DCU colleagues with the organisation of events such as:
- Conferences
- Report Launches
- Book and Research Paper Launches
- Public Talks and Panel Discussions
- Cultural Events
Please note, for all events please complete the Event Planning Form to inform all relevant parties in DCU including Estates and Security.
Events Protocol
If you wish to invite a high-profile visitor or dignitary to DCU, such as the President of Ireland, Government Ministers, or the Lord Mayor of Dublin, our team welcomes the opportunity to speak with you during the early stages of event planning to advise on the protocols required.
Please note that the invitation must be issued in the DCU President’s name from the President’s Office. Event organisers are required to complete the Dignitary Request Form at least eight weeks prior to your event to initiate this process.
Our team can offer event support, such as:
- Managing the visitor's speaking and protocol logistics
- Liaising with DCU Security on secure access and parking
- Guidance on form of address, seating, speaking order etc.
- Creating a detailed running order of the event proceedings
Inclusive Events
In line with DCU’s strategy and guiding philosophy of ‘people first', the University Events Team is committed to developing inclusive events that enhance equality and diversity for the DCU and local communities.
Our Guidelines for Inclusive Events will help you during the planning stages of your event. For further advice, or if you are attending a DCU event and have an accessibility requirement, please get in touch with us at universityevents@dcu.ie.
