Institute members contribute to public discussion

Members of the Conflict institute have been appearing in the media to provide expert analysis and contribute to public debate. Here is a selection of some of the latest media appearances.

Prof Donnacha Ó Beacháin appeared on RTÉ’s News at One, discussing the election in Georgia. He was interviewed on RTÉ’s News at One, discussing Russian interference in the EU vote in Moldova, and wrote in The Journal on the same topic. 

Dr James Gallen wrote for The Journal about redress for victims of abuse in schools.

Dr Walt Kilroy spoke to The Hard Shoulder on Newstalk about the end game of the conflict in the Middle East.

Dr Paola Rivetti appeared on Today with Claire Byrne, discussing the fighting between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Dr Gezim Visoka spoke to Shkruar Nga and Valona Tela at Radio Free Europe for their piece on why so many Muslim countries don’t recognise Kosovo. He earlier talked to Mersiha Gadzo at Al Jazeera for their article on the beginning of the trial in Kosovo of those accused of the Gado Banjska attack.

Prof Gary Murphy wrote his Sunday Times column on Russian interference in Irish politics, about Mary O’Rourke, and also on Sinn Féin. He also spoke to John Meagher at The Irish Independent for his feature on independent politicians taking on their former parties, and appeared on The Anton Savage Show on Newstalk, discussing the political landscape in the run up to the General Election.
