DCU Careers Fair to feature more than 100 employers
The DCU Careers Service will host over 100 companies and organisations for this year’s Careers Fair, showcasing employment opportunities to Dublin City University’s final year Undergraduate and Postgraduate students. It will place in the Helix on Wednesday, 9 October, and Thursday, 10 October, and gives students the opportunity to meet prospective employers, learn about their companies, graduate jobs schemes, and explore future options.
The Fair, sponsored by Deloitte Ireland, is divided up into two days:
-
Wednesday, 9 October: Science, Technology and Engineering
-
Thursday, 10 October: Business, Accounting, Finance and Law
This event contributes to the high level of graduate employability in DCU as highlighted in our latest Graduate Outcome Survey results from this year, which indicates that 94% of DCU students are in employment or future study six to nine months after graduation.
Yvonne McLoughlin, DCU Head of Careers, described the opportunity:
I would encourage all final year and postgraduate students to attend and meet HR representatives as well as recent DCU alumni, to hear about their experiences and the roles these exciting organisations can offer, not to mention gain the inside track on graduate programmes and recruitment practices.
Students are encouraged to do their research before attending the Fair, according to DCU Careers Consultant Elaine Daly.
The Careers Fair can help inform students' career decisions through the insight it gives into the range of opportunities available with your degree. We know from previous fairs that employers really value the preparation students do in advance. Doing your research prior to the fair allows you to have more meaningful conversations which will not only help with deciding who to apply to but strengthening the applications that you make also.
