Upcoming DCU Graduate Careers Fairs
We hope you are settling back into DCU at this point and enjoying your classes. This week we are going to explain a little bit about the largest events that take place for final year and postgraduate students so you don’t miss out and can make the most of our upcoming Graduate Careers Fairs in the Helix.
What is a Graduate Careers Fair and why should I attend?

A Graduate Careers Fair is an event whereby graduate employers come onto campus looking to meet with final year and postgraduate students to discuss graduate opportunities within their companies. It is an opportunity for students to meet and connect with company representatives and graduates working in these companies to find out more about options available to you with your degree and understand recruitment processes. Companies will be looking to start the hiring process now for roles commencing in 2025, when you have completed your studies.

On Wednesday October 9th and Thursday October 10th we are hosting 2 Graduate Careers Fairs across the 3 floors of the Helix, Glasnevin campus between 11am - 2.30pm with 60 organisations attending each day, these are not to be missed!

For further details and to register to attend the fairs, see links below:
Wednesday October 9th Science, Technology and Engineering Fair

What are Graduate Programmes?
Graduate Programmes are structured programmes offering paid employment to graduates but whereby there is a programme of learning and development put in place to support graduates in becoming productive and successful within the organisation as quickly as possible. They have traditionally been in companies which would hire a large number of graduates but there are also graduate programmes in other areas including some not-for-profit organisations. You are an employee and working from day one but have the added benefit of things like formal and on the job training and/or mentoring or buddy programmes. They are usually open to graduates up to three years post graduation depending on experience.
