DCU Graduate Careers Fairs 2024 A Great Turnout!
DCU Careers Service recently hosted two Graduate Careers Fairs at The Helix, attracting more than 2,400 final year and postgraduate students. This key event provided an opportunity for students to engage with over 100 organisations seeking to recruit for their graduate programmes and graduate level roles.
The Careers Fairs are a vital recruitment platform for organisations, as many begin their hiring process nearly a year in advance of programme start dates. For companies with graduate programmes, this event may represent their primary opportunity to connect with students. The event successfully brings students and employers together, building valuable connections that benefit both sides.
The overwhelming demand from employers to attend the DCU Graduate Careers Fairs led to its expansion across three floors in the Helix, creating a busy and energetic atmosphere. The first day focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, while the second day catered for Business, Accounting, Finance, Law, Humanities and Languages. The event was sponsored by Deloitte Ireland, who consistently support the employability of our students.
Yvonne McLoughlin, Head of the DCU Careers Service said “The Fairs provide a valuable platform for companies to attract very skilled DCU students who will be entering the labour market. We continue to develop the Fairs every year and I am delighted with the introduction of the Early Hour into the Fair format this year. It gives widening participation students and students with a disability a quieter, more accessible environment to explore opportunities and engage with employers, ensuring they feel welcomed and fully included in graduate level employment opportunities.”
