Yvonne McLoughlin, Head of Careers Service
Yvonne is responsible for the strategic and operational development of the DCU Careers Service.
As Head of DCU’s award winning careers service, Yvonne’s role includes providing leadership in the areas of career development in the curriculum, employability, career development learning, skills development and Employer engagement. She contributes to university objectives in terms of student experience, skills and professional development.

Roles on External Bodies
Yvonne represents DCU on the Dublin Regional Skills Forum and the Employability Working Group for the Young European University Network (YEURN). Yvonne served a term of office on the AHECS Executive Board from 2018-2020 (Association of Higher Education Careers Services)
Elaine Daly, Careers Consultant
Elaine works with our Institute of Education, Joint Honours and Fiontar & Scoil na Gaeilge undergraduate & postgraduate students and graduates, supporting them in their career development and career-related learning. Through one to one career guidance & coaching and classwork both inside and outside the curriculum, Elaine strives to empower students to develop and articulate their skills & experience, enhance their employability and achieve their career goals.
As a qualified Careers Consultant and certified Strengths Based Practitioner, she is passionate about students identifying their strengths and pursuing fulfilling careers whether students are in the early stages of their career or pursuing a career transition.
Elaine holds a Bachelor of Social Science degree from UCC along with Masters in Human Resource Management from TU Dublin (formerly DIT) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Career Development & Coaching Studies from the University of Warwick. She is also a member of the CIPD, AHECS and AGCAS.
Venita Murphy, Careers Consultant
Jennifer Kwan, Careers Consultant
Jennifer comes to DCU from the NCI as a Careers and Work Placement Advisor for the Business School and Psychology classes. This was a career pivot from HR, where she held multiple positions specialising in graduate development at ARYZTA and Segmatic (now 2K Games).
During her time in ARYZTA as the Graduate Program Lead she expanded into the CEE and introduced graduates into new departments across Europe. She mentored a DCU 2nd year Business Studies student for a semester introducing him to a range of departments and industry opportunities.
As a People Operations Analyst at Segmatic, she was primarily responsible for graduate recruitment and increasing applicant diversity.
She completed her BA in European Studies at Trinity, a Masters in HR at NCI, and is currently completing a PG Dip in Career Guidance from the University of Warwick.
She's an international ultimate frisbee player and Director for the national federation, who was introduced to the sport through a tournament in DCU when she started her studies in Ireland.
Marie Calnan, Operations & Events Assistant
As part of the Front Office team, Marie works closely with the Employer Engagement & Operations Officer on the promotion and delivery of career related events and fairs, both on campus and online. Marie engages with students and employers and is responsible for the online jobs board. Marie also supports various in house projects and provides office and financial administration support to the service.
Before joining DCU, Marie previously had a career in financial services working across many teams with particular focus on HR and operations.
Marie has a Diploma in Financial Services from the Institute of Bankers, a Diploma in Office Management from Pitman Training Ireland and is an accredited QFA. Marie is a member of The Association of Higher Education Careers Services (AHECS) and is a member of the Institute of Bankers (IOB)
